So, you’ve got your own copy of The Machine and clicked on the\u00a0Settings<\/strong> button and got this – or something very like it:

Cool! \u00a0And despite the busy look of it, the menu is pretty straight forward. \u00a0And best off all once you’ve made any changes you want to make you probably won’t\u00a0ever have to look at it again…<\/p>\n

After all the work I put into it \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

So, starting at the top left we have the two\u00a0Access<\/strong> <\/span>buttons. \u00a0These control who can access The Machine’s menus. \u00a0The options are:<\/p>\n

Public\u00a0<\/strong>– meaning anyone can access the main menus.<\/p>\n

Group<\/strong> – meaning only members of the same group as The Machine is assigned to can access the main menus.<\/p>\n

Owner<\/strong> – meaning only you can access the main menus.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Settings<\/strong> menu is only accessible by the owner of The Machine regardless of the\u00a0Access<\/strong> <\/span>level, and naturally anyone using RLV can be captured by The Machine regardless of the\u00a0Access<\/strong> <\/span>level that’s been set.<\/p>\n

Self Bondage<\/strong><\/span> – this is the one that’s a little confusing. \u00a0All of my RLV devices have a\u00a0Self Bondage<\/strong> button on the main menu. \u00a0When someone clicks it the device will try to grab that person, and if successful it will set a random timer which of course the captive can’t see. \u00a0The\u00a0Self Bondage<\/strong><\/span> button here on the\u00a0Settings\u00a0<\/strong>menu allows the owner – that’s you – to set an upper limit on that random timer. \u00a0In the picture above it’s set to a maximum of one hour, meaning that when someone captures them self using the\u00a0Self Bondage\u00a0<\/strong>button on the main menu they’ll be trapped for between one and 60 minutes.<\/p>\n

The two\u00a0Range<\/strong> <\/span>buttons let you set the scan range the machine will use when searching for potential captives using the\u00a0Scan<\/strong> button on the main menu. \u00a0The up arrow button increases the range by five meters, the down arrow decreases it the same amount. \u00a0The minimum range is five meters, maximum is 95.<\/p>\n

Save Pos<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0– like a lot of my more complex devices The Machine has a – stand by for self indulgent back patting – fairly elegant sizing system that allows it to be adjusted to fit the captive. \u00a0The Save Pos<\/strong><\/span> button lets you save the current prim positions as the default so you needn’t do a lot of re-positioning each time you use it.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Sounds<\/strong> <\/span>button lets you completely disable all of the sounds created by The Machine. \u00a0This is handy in situations where you have nearby neighbors you don’t want to disturb.<\/p>\n

Lastly the\u00a0Reset<\/strong><\/span> button sends a command to all the scripts to perform a reset. \u00a0It also reverts The Machine’s prims back to their last saved positions.<\/p>\n
